The Campaign to Fix the Debt is a bipartisan effort to educate Members of Congress, thought leaders, and citizens across the country about the need to address the nation’s fiscal challenges. The Campaign works to create a groundswell of local, state, and national support to help persuade Congress to pass—and the President to sign—a comprehensive debt deal that is large enough to stabilize the debt as a share of the economy and is conducive to economic growth. Participants come from a broad array of political affiliations, interests, and backgrounds and are united in their belief that this is a moment to look beyond self-interest and come together as a nation to restore faith in our government and reclaim the path to prosperity for future generations. 

As the national initiative’s chief PR consultant in Louisiana, Ragusa helped Fix the Debt assemble a statewide steering committee that rallied business leaders, elected officials, and influencers to advocate for a plan to fix America’s debt. Through a blitz of tactics including statewide media tours, social media, grassroots events, editorial boards, letters to the editor, and opinion editorials, Fix the Debt urged policymakers to develop a fiscal plan that can succeed both financially and politically.
