The Climate Action Committee supported then-President Obama’s climate change initiative, which included the nation’s first-ever limitations on carbon pollution, infrastructure improvements to deal with the effects of climate change, and new investments in clean energy and energy efficiency. With a strong presence in key states, the advocacy campaign hired Ragusa to coordinate field operations in Louisiana.

Ragusa facilitated grassroots events and garnered targeted media attention that demonstrated to policy makers in D.C. that the President’s policies had local public support. Events included a cross country “I Will” bus tour stop in New Orleans that rallied the city’s tourism community in support of the issue. Other events included an interfaith prayer breakfast, a kick off of the Atlantic hurricane season, and a roundtable discussion on how entrepreneurs can leverage the challenge of climate change to create opportunities for new businesses, products, techniques, and technologies.
